Took these a couple years ago while out fishing with my son. Tall Ships were forming up for a race from Portsmouth, NH to a port in Canada.

The tugs are used in the Piscataqua River for helping ships into the downtown area under and around 3 bridges.

Really like the first one sarge. Those things look a lot bigger in your picture than they do on TV.

Thank you all for the comments. I've got lots of boating photos cuz I'd go out with my son probably 3 times a week from Portsmouth Navy Shipyard where I had the boat at a dock.

These are great sarge. I love the composition of the first and the way you cropped to get the complexity of the rigging in the second. Who dosen't like tug? Really cool pictures thanks for posting.

The first one has great composition and guides your eyes left to right.

First one is awesome, I feel like it's so detailed and the colors are great. Do you mind me asking what equip you used?

Stef - this was my Nikon D50 with the standard 55mm lens. Auto settings but tight focus on ship rather than overall area. Otherwise the sun would have ruined the settings.

I like them all but #1 is outstanding. It looks more like a painting than a photograph. You have an excellent eye.

Since the death of the Old Man of the Mountain in Franconia, those 3 tugs are probably the most photographed items in the state. I've got some aerials that I shot back in the 80's.
