Challenge - Jan. 6th - 8th - ICE +
It is a rare occurrence that brings sustained low temperatures and moisture at the same time around here, but when it does we can experience some winter wonderland scenery. I had to dive deep into the archives to find the last time we had a significant winter event all the way back to December 2006. Oh man, that was 7 years and 2 cameras ago. Against my own good advice I ventured out to the plant on about the third day as a warming trend made the roads more passable for all the other Texans that I thought I would be safe enough. Found ICE encrusting most of the product either stored or loaded on trailers for delivery. And the countryside around the plant was what you Northern Culturists might call Magical.
Excellent photos y'all. We are 70 degrees today lol not even any ice on the mountain, plenty of snow but no ice that I saw. Maybe next challenge :)

Times are hard, eh?
Really like the second one. Looks like the ice on the front of a glacier. Love the way ice can look so blue!
Well have an Arizona Ice Tea on me and stay warm!

Awesome! Sun's reflections off of the water?

Finding ice up here is easy but I would rather be warm and in the sunshine!
Wow! Just look at how the ice formed on the wire in your first photo.

Wow! It's so cold here right now (For NC anyway!) only 19* and it's almost noon! Anyhoo, after looking through pics I thought about going out and seeing the hose is frozen and if not spraying down a bush or something to see if I can make Ice sickles, then I realized I would have to be out in the cold for a while to do that. We'll see if I get up the courage. For now here is what I found this morning between the house being frosted and going to the barn to check on the horses!
I like the effect the ice made on the scene looking out your back door.

My pictures are from a trip to Alaska. The last one is the face of the glacier where "calving was taking place. Great to watch.
