That is what I did with mine when the switch got wonky.

I'm sure you will be fine - mine is going strong.

The CLA (clean/lube/adjust) might do it. The switch is not "weatherproof", and some sticky gunk might have gotten under it.

On this note, please make sure you don't open a bottle of soda or Champaign or put them near your digital cameras. Their 'vapor' will get into those controls and make them sticky. I have used a can of TEK spray on them to clean the mess caused by the sweet stuff but use it sparingly because it may create another problem. It's just my solution short of sending them to Nikon/Canon/etc. and get billed for $100. LOL.

You might want to try cleaning around the switch with an old tooth brush and alcohol and warm water.

My name is Rick. I’m the owner and lead technician at Discount Camera Repair and a member in good standing here at the UHH. I’ve been doing repairs for other members here at greatly discounted rates and would be glad to help.

I'd be more than happy to repair the camera for you and keep the cost as low as possible. If you’re interested, please respond by private message or simply reply to this post.
