Hi dooragdragon Pete. Thanks for the input. I meant to click original and did not. They really do look good in that format. I will do better next time.

Because of the sky as a backdrop I prefer the color one, it
just pops out more.

I am fond of this shot taken in SE Colorado. I like old strucrures and things of days gone by. Do you prefer it in color or B&W? Please be gentle. This is the first time I have posted in this area of UHH :-)
Which really speaks to you?
Thanks in advance. BK

I like the contrast between the trees and the weeds in the color image.

Thanks Morning Star. The sand in the picture helps to define the native soil characteristics. But you may be right as it does somewhat detract from the whole. I appreciate your input.

Both are great photos, it would help if you clicked store original so we could download for a better look the next time you post.
Perhaps the b&w version could use just a bit more contrast to really make it stand out.
Myself , I prefer b&w for old things that have no paint left on it or never was painted.
For some old barns the rustic faded and spotty colors, a color shot works well .
Some things just scream out to me ,I'd look better in b&w.
Pete
.
I also prefer the B&W, and I also agree with using a little more contrast on the lower third of this image and on the structure itself to bring out a little more detail. Regardless both are great!

I like the color version. The B & W seems to be lacking in tonal range particularly in the low end for my taste.
