No. You are not born Christian. It is a belief you adopt and accept, whether or not it is true.

Do I think A&E made a mistake? Yes I do, but it's their business and their stockholders.
The only thing I find a bit incongruous is that the people that are condemning A&E for running their business the way they see fit are the same people that believe Hobby Lobby should be able to run their business the way they want.

We have more serious problems in the US than this. The media and the 545 folks in DC have divided us many ways. While we are distracted with this crap they cut deals like the ACA, NDAA that hurt us even more. The Fed recently made changes that are going to touch our wallets.

Sadly soap operas and sports are more important to the citizens of the US than what goes on in the beltway.

A big ditto on this

I also find it odd that I am in agreement with Frank T. A&E made a business decision and time will tell if this decision will improve or hurt their bottom line. IMHO all they needed to do was to remind everyone that Phil's opinions are his alone and do not represent the opinions of A&E or their management.

In the end A&E has every right to run their business as they feel fit as long as they are not in opposition to local or federal labor laws.

Remember that Charlie Sheen was also fired for voicing his opinion.

I know what LOL and OMG means but I have seen many other phrases shorted to letters and have no idea what they mean. your example "IMHO" is one of them. Could somebody compile a list of the most common shorted phrases and pass them along. please excuse my ignorance.

What goes on in the beltway is the Ultimate Soap Opera. Why it has everything a Soap Opera fan would want. Adultery, Backroom Deals, Drama,Name calling, False apologies, Villians, the list goes on. One could look at it as a sport causes it has a lot of over paid players, over paid consultants,(Coaches),bookies/Overpaid Hedgefund Managers and this list goes on.

Hold it, just hold it a minute. Frank may be right but up to a point. What is this comparing A&E to Hobby Lobby? Not the same. A&E fired Robertson for what he said - Hobby Lobby is being force to accept a law against their religious belief's. The only thing that they have in common is that they are both being attack on the grounds if religion. The same people that come in defense of Hobby Lobby are also the same ones coming to the defense of Robertson. What is being incongruous about that?

The Gay's are calling for tolerance for their views but are being intolerant for Robertsons views. That is being incongruous. In other words, Frank - What's good for the hen is good for the drake.

The article shows a serious misunderstanding. The First Amendment limits the government, not private, for-profit companies like A & E. As far as the claim that Robertson was fired "because he's a Christian" is blatantly false - he's never made a secret of his religion, and it would be inconceivable that A & E was unaware of it until now. What he was fired for was expressing opinions that A & E felt could damage their brand. Robertson forgot that he works for someone else.

Civil rights laws protect against religious discrimination, but it's not unlimited. If I worked for Robinson's duck call manufacturing business, and he found out I was a Buddhist, he wouldn't be able to fire me, but if I went onto a national media outlet and expressed the view that in accordance with Buddhism, duck hunting should be illegal, he could fire me for saying that. See the difference?
