Wow, I am glad you noticed snowy summit (and foothill, which I have debated erasing but others told me to leave it) of Mt. San Jacinto, California, in the background. I am looking forward to spending time at the site perusing and commenting on your work, too. What, you like Sinatra? Which one, Nancy? <G>

all of them, even frank jr is a good singer, but ol blue eyes is the best! leave mt san jacinto alone it adds to the shot. besides you live in texas now. texas gained its independence from mexico at the battle of san jacinto. If you get down to the houston area at the battlefield where it took place besides the monuments, they have docked the USS Texas battleship of ww2 fame. If you dis san jacinto youll get bad luck in texas.

Maybe you missed it; was not going to mess with the mountain, just the barely visible foothill. Sure don't want to diss San Jacinto, Texas...have been to Houston and Galveston, and used to fish tournaments (bass) at Lake Livingston and Toledo Bend. Was stationed at Naval Air Station Kingsville 75-77. We went to Fort Worth's Art Festival Saturday; lots of walking, good art. Don't really LOVE Texas scenery compared to California, but we are slowly adjusting.

Thank you, Lenf, your underwater shots are great! It took me a while to figure out how to view others' shots but I have it now.

REQUEST FOR EXIF....

So many have asked, that I have finally looked it up and here it is, the picture is the juvenile redtailed hawk fully flared, with Big Bear summit in background.
Date taken: 1-2-2009
camera: Pentax *istDS, 6 megapixel
F/8
1/3000 sec
800 ISO
35mm Focal Length: 199

Details: handheld, taken from moving car which I was driving...on a deserted road, folks, about 5mph to avoid spooking the hawk as he sat on a roadside fencepost. No flash.
Thanks to Barbara Copp.
