I notice on Ebay several US sellers are offering a Tamron 200-400 fairly cheaply.Anyone know anything about this lens?
I want a 400 lens and even with the postage and customs duty it might be worth buying.

I can't speak for that particular lens but I have 2 other Tamaron lenses and the quality and capability of the Tamaron lens for the money are well worth it.
Its old tech, discontinued, and was replaced by the 200-500mm model with no VC, which is now in the process of being supplemented by the 150-600mm model with VC.

I have one. It's not bad for what it is.
Not a great lense but should give servicable results.
Must use tripod.
I had one in the Sony A mount. I was never happy with the photos I took with that lens. They were soft and lacked contrast. I sold it. I have other Tamron lenses that I am happy with. But the 200-400 is very cheap on ebay for a reason.
Yes, it is older tech - but serviceable for what it is and what it costs ! One of the very first long AF zooms.
