Totally agree. Picasa is so easy to learn & does a good job. The more you put in, the better the result.

I would get them either PS or elements having taught school Photography and graphic design. Kids catch on much faster and are willing to just try thing without judging. Probable in two weeks after getting it will be able to teach you. :) my 2cents.

For a kid who doesn't even understand photography, you'd have to be joking!
I'm 69 & can't get my head around PSE, & I've taken photo's for 50 of those years. Digitals for 12.

It's tough admitting to a pre-teen that they are more adept at it than I am. But I am willing to learn, just go slow and speak loudly.
