Like so many forums, including this one, on Nikonians, I was bombarded with ads that pertained to recent web sites I had been to.So far today on this site, I have had several advertisements for beach hotels in Viet Nam, and am exotic men's jewelry site.

I have been a member for a couple of years and find these people to be very knowledgable and and very eager to help someone learning photography...I have learned a lot from them and was never made to feel stupid for asking even the most basic of questions.. I have seen a few forums that come across as down right arrogant and I would not even consider asking a question of them.....But not in the case of "Nikonians"..I am a "Silver" member which cost me $25 per year and in my opinion money well spent..
My .02 for what its worth...

A big thank you to all who took the time to respond. For the time being at least I think I will skip Nikonians as well as any other forums and stick with just UHH.

Mac, I would suggest you check out Nikonites. It's a really good forum/blog site that is nothing but Nikon, and it's free ... galleries, discussions, photo contests, blogs, etc. I think you'll like it and there's a wealth of information and knowledge to be gained.

A final word, since you have made up your mind. I have been a Nikonian for several years and whatever else you say about them, their workshops are really really good. Those alone are worth the small dues.

I just joined Nikonites, and have posted photos to their galleries. I like Nikonites' forum layout and subjects.
