Just purchased a Nikon 7100 and trying to learn how to operate,, like how do I get the image into the eye piece ?

Are you saying the camera is switched to Live view and you want to use the eye piece?

Come on guys....he asked a legitimate question.
If he is in LV on the Nikon, when he shuts the camera off then the LV goes back to the last camera setting he had, no longer LV.
So, answer his question. Obviously he has a problem.
One that I would recommend he set is everything back to its default settings, then see what happens.

Go to Mac post (6th from top). He gives you instructions on how to reset camera defaults.
