I saw this little hen cardinal in the feeder this morning. She was obviously enjoying her breakfast.

Thanks hippi for viewing and the kind comment, could be she was trying to hide or just catch some morning sunshine along with her breakfast. Cheers.

Excellent capture Jim.
Thanks for viewing as always Jim, she surprised me by posing as long as she did. I think she was also enjoying the sunshine, it was a cool 60 degrees F when I took the picture. Have a great day and thanks again.
Nice shot. Great light on the beak!

Very nice, what kind of bird is this? He's very pretty.

Female cardinal, we used to call them red birds. Thanks for viewing and for the comment.
This reminds me of my African grey. When he was young he would have food all over his beak and then wipe it all off on the wires of his cage

Wow! Shelty I can definitely relate to that; we finished hand-feeding our African grey when he was down to two feedings a day and he would end up with that bird pablum all down his front as well as his beak. He is going on 17 years old now, but still fond memories. Thanks for viewing and sharing the comment with me. I have several shots of our African grey posted here on the forum if you would like to view them. Thanks again.
