I guess I would add early Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Steve Goodman, Arlo Guthrie and his dad, Josh White, and too many others to recall.

I think Fred owned the Earl, too, didn't he? I remember Goodman at the Earl, and I can't remember the name of the mandolin player who often accompanied his. Frustrating!

I've heard Bob Gibson, and only heard OF Bonnie Koloc. Damn, now I can't get Lincoln Park Pirates out of my mind. I know it's on Youtube, somewhere. Actually, I have it on a CD, along with City of New Orleans. (Sigh of contentment)

Can't mention Steve Goodman without his best friend John Prine. Tom Rush was and still is one of the best!

I have three CDs of Jimmy Rogers songs, and hundreds of songs from the '20s and '30s in my iPhone, mostly blues and very "naughty" music. Some of my favorites include Fiddlin John Carson and daughter Moonshine Kate, and Cleoma and Joe Falcon (these are not "naughty"). There is a lot of great music available from that era.

He was really off that nite. Bad cold or something. I have a 6 albums of Jimmy Rodgers (Honeycomb fame). Not familiar with the original. Seems you know a great deal about folk. My hat is off to you. Music has been a big part of my life. I still perform 5 or 6 times a month and get paid. I sing
Accappela and do some quasi folk. Yaarbriugh, John Denver,Mason Williams and the like...I have always looked for good music and lyrics..said probably more than you want to know....ha ha thanks for reading

Huddy Leadbetter (Lead Belly) and if you have not heard John Koerner, Tony Glover and Dave Ray all of "Blues Rags and Hollers" fame you have not really witness music that can move you.

I'd have to add Gordon Lightfoot, still going strong!

John Prine had throat cancer quite a while ago… needless to say it messed up his singing.

I used to live in Hammond, IN Fell in love with Joan Baez when she was 19. She never knew, unfortunately. Does anyone remember Bud and Travis? Saw them at Mr. Kelly's in the 60's.
Saw the Everly Brothers at The Hungry I in the village in NYC. Brings back lots of memories!
