Watch the background so you don't have items growing out of the back of heads. Always put a head in a "blank spot" might be a helpful reminder.

If you shoot people it will usualy draw the attention of your local SWAT team. :D  :-D Sorry, capt smart alek just showed up. I agree with the previous poster your first shot has a twig coming out of the top of her head, I like your poses, the eyes are sharp and focused always a key. Just a nit to pick tell your subjects to smile. a smile will warm the picture and draw the viewer in. Leave scowling for mug shots.

samiam: In the senior Pic. your model needs to relax a bit more. She has a death grip on the tree! Maybe tilt her head just a bit less to the left, put her hand on the tree between her body and the tree. Unless of course the reason is to show off her ring, then something like you have will work. Just my opinion and I am not a pro.
The "My cousin" photo is very good. kinda what I was trying to tell you to do in the first one. Relaxed model.

technically I like the 3rd pic the best, but most portrait shooters will tell you that shootin' right up someones nose is not that cool..

This is kinda nit-picky, but the pendant the subject is wearing in the senior pic photo drew my eye immediately, bec. it's so bright (vs. attention being drawn to her face). Am not a pro, and she probably wanted to be photographed with the pendent on - that's why she wore it! But for future photos, could ask a subject to remove an item that's going to jump out at/distract the viewers of the resulting photo. Q. Could the pendant be toned down a bit in Photoshop? (I don't use PS, so am asking those who do.)

Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

Folks, how do I delete a post if I accidentally posted the same one twice? (as above)
