Thank you Nekon! This was great. I was with this all the way with only 2 minor exceptions: 1. I have never used "Continuous". Don't know why, except I like to view the image between single shots. 2. Also, I like water to look active and dynamic, not "milky". I know this is just a matter of personal preference. Oh yes, on some outdoor landscape shots I like to set the camera on "Vivid".
Kepp this good stuff coming. We all need it.

Thank you-I try to tell the bits the books leave out, without the technical jargon- I read somewhere that a person who knows what he's talking about, uses words that others can understand.
Thanks for sharing, one can only began to appreciate the hours of hands on it takes to gain your knowledge! Excellent!
Like you, I have been a photographer since the mid 60's. I have been in digital since the beginning (Sony still video bring anything to mind?) Your first course IS EXCELLENT!!! Just what newbies need to help them along the silver brick road. :) :)
Thank you. I'm sending this to my daughter.
Great info. Thanks for all your efforts. I would add this info applies to high-end compacts, also. Again, good job.

Thanks - is there any way I can print this and keep in my bag???
Very pertinent and well written information. There's something in there for everyone regardless of the subject matter they wish to shoot. Thank you for your time and effort.
Nekon-
Thank you for your time, effort and willingness to share so much! No doubt this will be the best Christmas present I will receive this year.

Larryb: You can print by highlighting and copying The KISS Guide to a blank Word document then saving and printing the Word document. I chose to downsize the font so it only took up 9 pages instead of 17. But it works and you'll have a document to share with your family, friends and camera colleagues when they see your's and say they want their own.

Yes, the copyright issue only comes into play if you intend to sell my article-you are very welcome to copy for your personal use.
Ken, you did a great job! Thank you for all the useful information you took the time to share. This needs to be a sticky somewhere.
Maybe we need a new section with just tutorials, moderated by someone like you who has experience and knowledge and the ability to explain details in a clear and concise manner. That person can then remove inaccurate or unclear posts or at least post a correction.
Just a thought. You and some other Hogs have posted some really great tutorials recently.
Thank you...this information is why I read the Hog.....I appreciate all your work putting this together....
