Thank you-I try to tell the bits the books leave out, without the technical jargon- I read somewhere that a person who knows what he's talking about, uses words that others can understand.

Thank you Nekon! This was great. I was with this all the way with only 2 minor exceptions: 1. I have never used "Continuous". Don't know why, except I like to view the image between single shots. 2. Also, I like water to look active and dynamic, not "milky". I know this is just a matter of personal preference. Oh yes, on some outdoor landscape shots I like to set the camera on "Vivid".

Kepp this good stuff coming. We all need it.

Great info. Thanks for all your efforts. I would add this info applies to high-end compacts, also. Again, good job.

Larryb: You can print by highlighting and copying The KISS Guide to a blank Word document then saving and printing the Word document. I chose to downsize the font so it only took up 9 pages instead of 17. But it works and you'll have a document to share with your family, friends and camera colleagues when they see your's and say they want their own.

Yes, the copyright issue only comes into play if you intend to sell my article-you are very welcome to copy for your personal use.

Maybe we need a new section with just tutorials, moderated by someone like you who has experience and knowledge and the ability to explain details in a clear and concise manner. That person can then remove inaccurate or unclear posts or at least post a correction.
Just a thought. You and some other Hogs have posted some really great tutorials recently.
