We live in Coral Springs about 85 miles east of you. We keep saying we should take a day trip over to Naples. Where should we plan to visit to make our day interesting? By the way, I do like you photo of that gater.

Right now the water levels are high, so not too many wading birds at the lettuce lakes. There are some migrating warblers around now, as well as the resident song birds. I find that March is especially a good month, water levels are lower, spring migrating warblers can be seen, many wading birds around, birds and alligators concentrate around the lakes. Now if we have a good year with wood stork nesting, they usually start in Dec-Jan, and that could be very interesting. But generally March is my favorite time at the sanctuary and better chance for a good day, especially since you have a drive to get here. Hope this helps!
