This is a picture of Alley Mill that I took on a birthday trip last January. I don't use any editing software, mostly because I have Windows 8 on my laptop and don't know how to use it and GIMP isn't compatible. Not that I know how to use that either! :)

Thank you. The reflection is what I was trying to get for a contest I wanted to enter. I was pretty pleased with it

I like it, the colour of the mill, the reflection, a very tranquil scene

Thank you. I know the colors are rather 'muted' but it was Winter and I think if I messed with it (or had hubs do it) that it wouldn't have had the same 'feel' to it.

Wonderful shot, only need to click store original so we can get a better look at it.

Gimp will work in Windows 8. I used it with Windows 8 and am now using it with Windows 8.1.

I like how you framed the mill with the trees and the lovely reflection.

Beautiful picture especially considering there is no post processing. The reflection is a lot more saturated than the actual sky and mill. With a little processing (minimal) it could win that contest.

Thanks for letting me know that. I went to try and download it and couldn't find Windows 8 in the choices. I'll look again

Thank you. Hubs and I 'discuss' this often. He believes you should always post process and I don't agree. I prefer leaving my photos as they are. There is no right or wrong, just personal preference. And for me it's leaving them as is.
