My name is Paul, I am an amature photographer. I got into it to take picture of my kids. And I ended up shooting mainly action shots of the kids and the football and basketball teams. Shooting under bad lighting with in stadiums and gyms seems to be the majority of my shots. They get better as I improve on my lenses. I look forward to all the advise I can get. The pictures I posted were all using a 70-300mm at max zoom at around f/5 to f/6 on the TV setting of the camera shutter speed varied on the lighting.
Night shot with flash
Cropped touchdown run
unedited daughter's unassisted double play.
Welcome to the Hog, Paul. For future posts we have a special section you can post your sports pictures in where others who shoot sports will be sure to see them. I shoot a lot (5- grandsons) of sports photos too, football, baseball and lacrosse. In past years I shot a lot of basketball and wrestling so I feel for you with dark gyms. One thing you can do to maintain good light is up your ISO if your Canon will handle it and the other is faster glass which, unfortunatly is expensive. Looks like you are doing pretty good with the equipment you have. ;)

I am getting better with what I have. Hope to get some faster lenses next year. Here is one that made the local news paper this year.
Looking good. Welcome to the forum.
You guys and gals be easy on me. I dove in head first and choose the hardest thing to learn first, action shots in low light.
Welcome to the Hog. Yes you have chosen a tough topic to shoot.
And you are "tackling" it well. :) :)
