Hi,
I am trying to learn Photo shop CS 5.
I don't know how I can get all my photos that are in Mac's I-Photo program to go into Bridge so that I can choose any of my pictures at any time to edit. I played around with trying to do it myself (I don't remember what I did now) but the closest I got was that Iphoto was grayed out so I could not choose it .

thanks to all

Open PS and click on the help button at the top of the screen and you should find the info there.

There is an icon over near the right side with a b on it, click on that and it should open into the bridge section, but I would double check with the help info that is provided with the program.

It seems to me that the last time I imported photos from I photo to bridge,I opened bridge and on the left side I was able to click open the path to I photo and was able to import from there. Sorry, not sure of the exact steps but I know it can be done.

Have not used iphoto in a while, but it appears that if you use their default setup that they hide the folder and make it so you can not search for it. I image that way people don't throw out photo's by accident.

Here is a pdf of a work around for you.

Hope this solves the problem

Hi,
I did come across all the folders on my computer on that left side.
But I have 296 events of pictures (over 15,000) in Iphoto that are not listed. most all my photos go directly into Iphoto and are not listed in finder.
I found an option to open Iphoto with ps5. That could get me in trouble I bet! ????

Iphoto changed it way it stores files. If you are looking to use bridge for your organizing which I think is a better method, you will need to not import your image using iphoto

Thanks to all replies. I was trying to answer, but my replies were not done correctly, they are separate from your help...sorry, first time.

I do have Iphoto listed as I also have desktop and pictures under favorites BUT the actual iphoto program opens. what I want is to have all my events listed as I have my picture folders so when I click on one it will open in bridge and I can carry on.

Thanks

You will need to duplicate the iphoto folder picture folder so it is not hidden from bridge.

So, are you saying all the 15,000 photos in iphoto can't be added to ps5?
