Laura, the magic of no color to add a mistique. Would Casablanca be as good with lots of color, NO, the greys require us to look deeply and it adds to the mystery of the visual story. Kudos to you.
My one suggestion, "Topaz B&W and other" go to Topazlabs.com and under resources there is a list of webinars, teaching videos.
Just introduced is the "B&W and Others" plugin and it is on an intro special for $30. Do a 30 day down load and check it out! Then quickly grab the 1/2 price special.
They say it is a photoshop plug in but it works on Corel PSP, Serif Photo programs, and a number of other. Some require loading into a specific file in "programs" folder. But they give directions on the net. That's not a big deal.
The plugin duplicates old film (gran and sensitivity to the colors), old paper types (hue and contrast) and lots of things!!! I like it because I have an IR only converted Canon G-2.
You swim against the stream and do a great job of it.

Thanks a ton for the above information. I will check into it. I just bought a book on photoshop elements to guide me through the many various edits I can do with the pics. I have an old camera, Rebel XSi. I just ordered a semi-pro lens, and as soon as I save some $$ I will get the one L series (Canon). I will wait for Xmas to buy a new camera, waiting for prices to go down :mrgreen:

Laura, there are lots of how-2 videos out there and free webinars.
Most of my photos were taken with a Panasonic TZ-3 pocket camera. Just happens to be a super zoom, Leica lenses 10X and 10 megpix.
This is a quick photo change with the BW plugin. First time I used it I have used it. Changed to a brown tone, then used the erase tool to remove the effect from the flowers... while this is not something I would let others see, ,,, I try to be careful what I show,,, but to glance at what the plugin will do ,,, it serves the purpose.

Are you adding in the vignette? I like the effect with the wagon wheel, but it doesn't work with the buildings.
