I was disappointed not to see a P38 among them. They gave us an edge during World War II. Wonder if anyone's left alive that used to fly them.

When I was in hi-school and later college, the "drone" of a B36 was, next to the T6 changing prop pitch, as it flew over, is still indelibly instilled in my memory. There was one parked for years at Love Field, Dallas. Used to pass by her when I was chasing companies making and flying machines that left the ground.
