My wife bought me a new, in the box rain gauge today at a garage sale for $3.00 (they originally wanted $5.00)

Way cool. I think I understand how that works. You wait for it to rain and it tells you "how much" it has rained, correct?

had one similar.. be sure to bring it in before it freezes. i talk from experience, now i use an electronic one that dumps itself, but i still bring it in during winter. my first ones were were tapered as the first inch was nearly 4 inches to register small rains more precisely. enjoy yours, i enjoy mine
