I've supported the leadership of a lot of black people, but if they are conservatives they are derided by the liberals and the media. They treat them like non-entities.

I don't think your assessment is correct. I live up here in the North, and I do not see that kind of stigma against Southern whites which you are talking about. Only your words, actions and attitude can determine if you are racist, not what part of the country you live. There are and have been plenty of Southern white supporters of social equality, and this fact is as much acknowledged in the North as it is in the South.

I know that there is just as much racism in the north as there is in the south. When someone ask where I am from, especially from blacks, they assume that I am a racist. My words, actions and attitude had nothing to do with it. I for one support racial equality.

bangee5, I agree, looking through my eyes as a Caucasian. But I don't pretend to know how one of another race, and taught of the supposed prejudices against them, might feel.

In my 43 years, and I sat on promotion boards, we looked a performance reports and not at the color of a person's skin.
