I was going through some old film photos and thought you may enjoy these unusual aircraft pictures. I spent 32 years at Orlando International Airport, so I have a few.
The first one is of the B-52's last flight before it was put on static display at the airport. The shot appears to have been taken above the aircraft, but was actually taken from the ground. If you look, you can see the flexing of the wings because the pilot radically pitched the aircraft up and rolled to the right just as he passed me. The aircraft was about 200 ft above the ground when this shot was taken. I overheard a high ranking Air Force Officer say that the pilot would have been court marshalled and demoted for doing such a radical maneuver with a B-52. Fortunately, the pilot was already a retired B-52 pilot who served at the McCoy Air Base, now known as Orlando Int'l Airport.
The second is one of the Concordes when they landed two simultaneously, something not done before. I was between them taking pictures between the runways.
The third is me standing next to Air Force One's engine.
Of course, none of these photos would be possible today due to security issues.

I parked my airplane in the parking lot this day. Yes I did get in trouble when the Fire Chief arrived.

Hey fred love avation shots. This is getting spooky. You are dating yourself with the thunderbird photo. They havent flown t-28/f-5's in a very long time.I think carter was prez. The b-52 also is a great shot with the smoke trailing. Noisy BUFF's aint they? I used to go to the air show at wurthsmith afb in oscoda MI. It was a SAC base at the time. now no more sac, cold war, b52 on ready alert. I miss having the russkies as enemies. No matter what else you can say about them at least they werent lunatics like al queda or Iran is today
Think you might like this plane
