What is the best add on flash for the Sony A350 camera. I have had it for quite a while and want to upgrade my photography.

Depends on your budget.
You can pick up a VERY nice flash, the HVL-58AM new for less than $400 U.S.D. on Amazon. It is powerful and allows you to bounce even in the landscape orientation.
If that is too hot for you though, the HVL-43AM new is slightly less.
There are also a number of 3rd party flash products available for the Alpha line... just be sure you don't buy one of the brand new Sony flashes built for a standard hot shoe (like the one on the A99) because it won't work on your A350. :(

You said you wanted to step up your game with the A350. If you don't mind my asking, which lenses do you use on that camera?

Don, I bought two ad-on flashes for my A300 (exactly the same as the A350.)
The Minolta 5600 HS and the Minolta Maxuum 3500xi.
Both work perfectly with the A300 with full automation and even the wireless infrared trigger when off camera.
The 5600 HS is an exact duplicate of the Sony HVL58 and a great deal cheaper. I think I got my 5600 for about $100.
I bought both on the second hand market very cheaply versus the more expensive Sony flash units.
You might check these out.

^^^Makes a good combination with the A350. I RARELY took/take my Tamron 18-250 off the A350 because it has such a great useful range and in broad daylight, gives pretty good image quality up to about 200mm before getting soft.
If you buy two more lenses, get a fast f2.8 or better and a long superzoom 300mm or better.
Good glass will REALLY make your pictures better from that camera. ;D

May I suggest the Sony 70-300mm G lens for a high quality superzoom.
It's slow, but the optics are excellent and it will focus very quickly on the A350.
That lens also stays sharp at both extremes and there is no lens creep OR chromatic aberration... NONE.
And even though it is much bigger than your Tamron 18-250, it balances well on the A350.
If you have a Sony dealer nearby go try it out and see how you like it....
