I live in Lakeland Fl and own a d70s and now a d7000. I enjoy time at Circle B Bar Reserve and Bok Tower Gardens. I have been shooting for most of my adult life off and on but in the last 20 yrs much more. My wife and I vacationed in Arizona and were able to visit the Grand Canyon as well as Sedano and Hoover Dam. Oct 2010 we visited Southern California, mountains and ocean. We also enjoy crusin the carribean and Mexico, Myan Ruins. Since welive in the south though the Smokey Mountains are where we visit the most.
I have enjoyed the forum very much and have continued to learn a lot from everyone.

Welcome to UHH! Arnold from Indiantic, Fl
Hey, I grew up in Lakeland. Quite familiar with Bok Tower Gardens, but left prior to there being a Circle B (and I spent a lot of time hanging around Highland City.) Would love to see more pics from/hear more about that area if you don't mind sharing. It amazes me just how much that city has grown since the late 50's/early 60's.
Funny thing is we have a home in Winter Haven, but live in Wisconsin, love the Circle B, actually was there in September and encountered one of the big guys (12 footer) on the trail 3/4 of the way around, a runner came from the opposite way and scared him down the bank thank goodness didn't want to have to hike all the way back. Anyway its nice to know that there are others that enjoy the preserve too.
Thanks Awana.
Thats a great shot. Great color and contrast with full detail.
I will try to get a few like this.
we are in Vero Beach for the next 4 months.

Lakeland is due west from there on state rd 60. Turn north on 98 and then east on winter lake road, circle b bar reserve is about 1 and 1/2 miles down on right.

If I'm thinking of the right area, that would be out CR 540/540A (never could keep those 2 roads straight, lol) in the vicinity of Lake Hancock? Bernie Little had a Budweiser warehouse at the intersection of Winter Lake Road and US98? Surprised I can recall that much, lol. If I'm thinking of the right area, it is definitely nice out there, I recall Hancock being overrun with gators way back when. One of these days I might just have to return and see just how much the area has changed.

Dead nut or one of those red neck tech folks? ;-) Now there's a phrase I have not heard/used in a long while, lol. Left in '76, been back to visit a time or 2 since, last time being 2000 for the Sun-n-Fun Fly-in. Lived north of town up near the sprawling metropolis of beautiful downtown Polk City.
