What does everyone think about Adobe's current $10/month subscription with a one-year contract for PS and LR in the Cloud? It seems like a good deal since a single update for LR would cost $100. I think you get PS Extended and LR with the subscription. I'm just concerned about what the price will become after the 1st year.

A justified concern. Mine too. I guess that once they get us to the cloud, they can jack up the price.
I am very pleased with this CC system. The updated and additional features alone are worth the $10.

Read the fine print. The offer has some restrictions about what you must already own to get the $10/mo introductory deal. I think you must already have CS3 or later.
It wasnt for me, because I do not use Photoshop and the upgrade from LR4 to 5 was cheaper than 10bux a month.
When they issue updates for CC users, they will issue them for Non-CC users too so im not running any risk of having an outdated Lightroom 5 and when LR6 comes out, ill buy that upgrade as well when a "Upgrade for 59bux" coupon comes out.

It's a good deal for some but not for others. I don't think any software company out there will guarantee future prices, so your concern for the future is unfounded.
I once purchased an application from a large company. At the time, the company advertised that for a special one-time only fee I could purchase a LIFE TIME license that would NEVER expire. Since I liked the software, and thought the company was big enough not to fail, I purchased it. Less than 4 years after this, the company was purchased by Yahoo and later that division of Yahoo went out of business. :-(

According to the email ad I received last month, as long as you don't let it lapse, the $9.99 price is FOREVER.
BUT, this offer expires December 31st.

Could post the email or send it to me? I did not get it and would like to see it.
I was on the fence about Adobe's original offer of $20/month for any single CC product ($10/month introductory price for the first year), but for $10/month including Lightroom, I'm going to jump in. And yes, you do have to already have PS CS3 or higher to qualify. Adobe is advertising the $10/month as a permanent price as opposed to a limited time introductory price, but I don't think the price is guaranteed forever.

I have attended various Adobe seminars at the HQ here in San Jose. The project managers, programmers, etc. have discussed this in detail, and the deal is until the end of 2013.
Although they say specifically during these meetings they don't foresee increasing that price if you commit to an annual subscription now, they will not guarantee the price will be forever.
I have seen much better benefit from this model than the previous hard copy disc system. Constant updating of not only PS CC, Bridge and Lightroom, but also on demand updating of PS CS6. I also have instant access to the programs from various laptops and desktops at home, office and on the road. I am not limited to 2 licensed computers.
This sounds very good. It's $9.99/month (plus tax?) for life and includes Photoshop CC and Lightroom, plus some other things.
As was said above, you must have PS CS3 or higher and sign up by 12/31/13.
Adobe in the sky worth diamonds....well, I never was a songwriter.

It is a good idea as long as you pay the monthly "rent". You stop your payments and you won't be able to access either one of these programs. They will be on your computer but they won't be functional until you come up with the money. Also, this deal is only for owners of Photoshop CS3 and later versions.
http://creative.adobe.com/plans/offer/photoshop+lightroom?sdid=KIHZPAccording to the FAQs.

What happens if I decide to stop my membership?
You will continue to have access to free Creative Cloud member benefits, and if you saved your work to your computer you will continue to have access to those files. You will no longer have access to the Creative Cloud desktop applications or most of the services that are components of a Creative Cloud membership.
Will the cost of my membership ever increase?
When you purchase directly from Adobe, the cost of an annual membership will not go up during the first 12 months of your membership. It is possible that the cost of the month-to-month membership will increase, but if it does, you will be notified and given the opportunity to cancel.

I plan to sign up in December and see what happens even though I have CS6 and Lightroom 5.
There are conditions. You need a Photoshop version and/or maybe Lightroom to get the deal.

Yes.
The link that was posted clarified some things. It does require an annual commitment but does monthly billing. If the use deal works like they had before if you don't hook up to the Internet your programs will still work for 90 days.
