I just returned from visiting a friend in MN. This picture was taken in the early morning with heavy fog and handheld. The first picture is as it came out of the camera, the 2nd with some tweaks to contrast and brightness. THEN I decided to do what my very good friend and mentor Brent Harder asked me to try...think outside the box...so I did an artsy PP.

I would say that you did well with Brent's advise. The final PP is very good. I am impressed at how you got the fogginess out of the picture and got a respectable image out of one that was difficult to see the good in it.

Thank you, that was a very nice comment. The fog was extremely heavy that morning but the real life image was spectacular, one day someone will invent a camera that "sees" and records exactly what we see!!! LOL!

I was just outside of Rochester. I went to visit a friend and we got some serious horseback riding in. BTW MN has some really beautiful country. We went camping at a park and I was awestruck at God's beauty.

Good job of saving a photo that was surly doomed to the outer darkness of the "delete" zone!

It's a save....and a beauty! I don't always like the photoshop effects; but this is surely an example where you added rather than took away from the original. Well done. Shows real creativity and a good touch with Photoshop.

Thank you very much ebrunner for your comments, I am trying to learn the ropes of Photoshop, perhaps there IS a place for "dead" photos

Our two children live in Rochester, we live an hour away.

That is some very pretty country around there. My friend's husband was a football coach for one of the schools there, don't remember which one. His name is Cy Champa.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. We went horseback riding in Zumbro Bottoms St Park. It was in the 30's when we woke up.

Our son-in-law is a phy ed coach at a high school in Rochester. He knows of that football coach. He said he is in a hall of fame because of his coaching career. Sounds like quite a guy.
