Any professional or amateur entomologists want to identify this
cute little guy/gal. It has been hot and dry in Kansas and many of these characters have been sneaking into my house on the lower level "rec room" throughout the summer months. The body is about one inch long and the "feelers" give some additional length.
Thanks for the info. The bug is Scutigera coleoptrata or house centipede. Feeds on other bugs, spiders, silverfish etc. This has been a great year for spiders so maybe I will let old Scutigera
coleoptrata be the exterminator. When he runs out of spiders he
will probably move on. "Nature's balance"
Don't let those guys breed!! They reproduce real fast and you will be over run with them in no time.We had them last year and couldn't get rid of them with the strongest sprays available. We finally had to call in the big guys who said they had become an infestation all over town. They are disgusting in the house. They march across the floor by the hundreds.
