I am using Picasa because it lets me save my photos at 800 megs so I can publish them on my website. I like the simple editing tools also. So my question is,,,,,,is there any other programs like that available?

Picasa is free and that's it's advantage. I use Lightroom, I like it's organization and ability to process images, very powerful, it also works seamlessly with CS6 and Elements, and plug-ins like NIK and Topaz Labs.

BTW it has and export feature that simply allows you to save reduced size copies of you work for web display.

Every photo editing program I have used will allow for saving your finished picture at any resolution you choose. I use both Picasa and Photoshop Elements 11 and like them both. Elements has many more functions and thus more flexibility in dealing with your pictures, but with that comes more complexity. Elements comes with a 30 day free trial. You will get many more recommendations. You will need to try them and see what fits into your work flow best. Good luck with your choice. Let us know what you decide upon.

check out photoscape, it is free and very powerful, or check out what came with the camera, it should be very simple as well.

I use mainly Picasa and an older version of Elements but have recently been trying FastStone and so far like what it does. Like Picasa it is a free download.

I love Picasa but i am going to have to change. When I download pictures from my camera (7D) via card reader, they appear in random order. I have tried everything under the sun to fix it, but it looks like I am going to have to change photo editors. So your recommendations are appreciated.

The Photoshop Elements Organizer sorts your downloaded pictures by day and by time within a day. This all happens automatically.

Elements costs less than lightroom if you're looking to economize.

How about the ability to burn a CD/DVD from the edited photos, will either one do that?

In Picase you should see a little pop down menue on the same bar as the Import box, it is an inverted diamond, click on it. You can chose a sort box, by date, by name, by recent changes, a host of ways.

Windows Live Photo Gallery its part of Windows Essentials. Search you computer files, you may already have it. Its simple and does an excellent job. I use it in combination with my other editors.

Google it if you don't have. Its free.
