One of the lens most always in my gadget bag. Allows me to take "panoramas" without having to stitch and correct photos when I return home.
Does give some distortion when u tilt the camera up or down but Photoshop corrects your mistake, if you make it.
I put a CPL on it and afterwards read somewhere that UltraWide angle lenses do not benefit from a CPL...
Thanks, I'm thinking of getting one.
I'm thinking the same thing. Where are you looking, if I might ask? DJT

Bought mine from Amazon few months ago.
Is this for Canon or Nikon? I was going to sell my D7000 when I bought my D800, but I changed my mind. When shooting on vacation I leave my Tamron 10-24mm on my D7000 and my 28-300mm on my D800. No lens switching. I've gotten some great photos from the Tamron. I might have gone with the Nikon, though, but didn't know that they made one when I bought mine. The Tamron is less expensive, though. I do like the range of this lens, because I shoot a lot in the 20-24mm range, which the Tokina 11-16 doesn't have.

I think the lens are the same; just the mounting hardware is different.
Multiple bodies does make life easier -- IF you have the ability to haul multiple bodies, multiple lens, multiple speedlites, multiple . . .
ad infinitum. Am getting too old to haul everything around - even with a two wheel dolly that I had "tricked up". Ya still got to drag that thing around behind you and some places have BIG winding paths leading up BIG hills, like the Dallas Arboretum and the Dallas Zoo. :?

grusum.....BIG hills in Dallas??? I suppose so, for flatland!!! I'll agree, though, the Zoo does have some nice hills. I used to work there.

When u get old, partner, it doesn't take much to make a hill.
 :) You'll find out -- right now you look like you're still wet behind the ears! I envy you your youth. :)

I hear ya.
Back problems, gru. That'll stop you quick. I'm taking p.t. right now, though, and hope it helps.
I have used this lens for quite a while and love it. It is reasonable in price and you can find used ones for around $300-$375. I bought my last one on eBay for $365.00 and it was like new. The only thing I've found is a little vignetting in the corners and distortion of the horizon which can both be easily corrected in PP or LR. It is my go to lens for landscape and real-estate shoots.

Fully agreed and it is my walk about lens for landscape photography but it also carry a Tamron 70-300 for shots not possible with the ultrawideangle. And then along comes my wife with her SX50 and outperforms both my lens and 1/5th (?) the weight and 1/4th the cost... :-(
