I want a digital successor to my Roliflex, but can't see where sensor sizes are given. "Full frame" is obviously greater then "point & shoot", but where could I determine the real value in the combination of megapixels and sensor size. I have had a Canon A630 for years now, and it is a terrific little p & s.

Clarke, welcome to the Hog.
The digi equivilant to your Rollie does exist. Look at Phase One, Hassy or Leica, and others make them also.
First, what the heck is AH?
Second, I have not read the article.
To simplify this a LOT, pixels are not created equal.
Imagine a telescope with a mirror. The bigger the mirror(pixel), the more light(photons) it can gather.
Imagine the size of the sensor. The more pixels, the smaller they are. The tighter together, the less area separating them, thus more bleed from adjoining cells.
So a MF sensor may have only slightly more pixels than a Nikon 800, but there is no comparison to the pixel size. The 40mp MF sensor's pixels are probably ten times larger than the D800.
I'll assume the article goes into all the noise factors etc.
If I could afford a phase One, I would get one in a heartbeat. The cleanness of those fotos are amazing.
Like comparing a 16x20 shot with a FF and the same one shot with 4x5 film. The sharpness is extradinary.
Anyway, back in the real world, the best most of us will ever manage is a puny little FF.
Clarke, there are digi backs that will fit some MF cameras. Look for them on google.
Again, welcome and good luck with that Rollie.

Comparing full frame sensor to a smaller sensor (cropped sensor) with the same amount of pixels for example each having 10 pixels, in the larger sensor the pixels will be larger thus allowing more light to be recorded thus better low light performance and better high ISO with less noise.

Did you read the comments? It's not so cut and dried as you think.
