First name: Dorothy (no Wizard of Oz jokes, please. Heard them all) I prefer my nickname: Dodie. Pronounced with a long o. Middle name you will never get out of me. "Sign papers"? Yeah, right, and how many would be signing with their fingers crossed??

One of my customers had a student whose name was Female. Pronounced Fe (short e sound)- mall-ee. The teacher asked her she got that name and her mother told her the nurses named her. It was on the hospital bracelet. Female Jones.

Female Jones ??? That's totally hilarious! Was there a comma between the names, as in "Female, Jones" ?

Don't know. That was how she told the story. I laughed so hard I was crying.

I'll have to get you a photo of my Dad's tombstone- Hercules. Fortunately, he lived up to the name.

I think you stole those names from my earlier post. I had mentioned about attending grade school in Indianapolis in the late 1950's with a young lady named "I'ma Pigg". Like I said in my post, she was a real cutie too...Yours are too close to be just a coincidence.

Poor kids that get saddled with a moniker that sounded cute when they were babies, but had to live with through out life. One of the speakers at my summer graduation, back in the 60's was the daughter of a Texas governor. His last name was Hogg and he named his two daughters Ima and Ura. Ura was the last surviving and was the speaker. Don't remember what she said only her name!

Ima Pigg? You're kidding? Actually there was a daughter of a Texas Governor Hogg names Ima. Rumors were that she had a sister URA, but this is untrue. Ima never married and remained a Hogg until her death.

1956 St. Andrew the Apostle grade school Indianapolis...I attended an all male parochial high school taught by the brothers of Holy Cross while I'ma went to a co-ed school taught by both priests and nuns...lost contact with her after grade school, but in grade school she was a real 'cutie" despite her given name

It's terrible when you are the only one who remembers something and even the internet cannot back you up. I recall a couple who named their child god. And a quote from Cher was that it is spelled with a small "g." Apparently, peer and fan pressure caused Sonny & Cher to change the name to Chastity (now known as Chaz).

Until I was 12 years old, I thought my name was "Hey, You".
