My own personal choice is Domke, preferably in waxed canvas. Good brands include Kata, LowePro, Tamarac, Crumpler and, of course Domke. To buy a bag, put everything you're going to carry in a box (well padded), take the box to your nearest camera store and try stowing your gear in every reasonably-sized bag they have. No, they won't be perplexed or impatient with your search; I guarantee they will treat you like a pro and provide excellent assistance. Why? Because that's the way a pro does it. Good luck.

Thanks, I have looked at Domke and like the F2(sand).
Do not understand the "s" ?

I like and use the 2 bag system mentioned earlier. My "day" pack is a Tarmac 5786 that holds my A-77 & CyberShot HX200V, 2-3 lenses plus the on on the A-77, a few filters, blower, spare memory cards and other little stuff...as much as I want to lug around. The second bag is a LowePro Pro Runner AW450 that will hold my biggest lens, macro gear and a laptop in a well padded pocket. I used both in a recent trip to Europe when I did not wish to check any of my gear. Both were carried on and I put the LowePro on a collapsible wheeled carrier that made those large airports manageable.
At home the LowePro goes in the trunk and the Tamrac on my back. The Tamrac gets loaded with the lenses I think I will need for where I'm going and the CyberShot is with me in case. That set up works well for me even with limited mobility that sometimes requires an electric scooter.
Hope you find something that works for you...Carter

When you type in a link, this system does not accept https (secure site) as a hotlink.

http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-151272-2.html#2558996 will work as a direct link.

https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-151272-2.html#2558996 won't work, has to be copied and pasted.

Damn confusing to search B&H and pick a bag.
I seek opinions on the better manufacturers. Comments or just listing brand(s) is requested.
Cost not much of a consideration.... looking for an excellent well made product. Thank You

Sony NEX-7 with just about all the lenses and a HVL-F20M
flash along with cleaning accessories, etc. I keep it in a small backpack near the door to carry it with me on my way out the door to run errands and stuff.

IQ is EXCELLENT & the EVF viewfinder is VERY good. Get an extra battery.

Think Tanks are awesome. I just got the fanny pack for just a walk around bag and love it. You won't find just one bag to do it all. I also have a Think Tank Street Walker that I love plus a Kata back pack as well and they all do different things.

My Think Tank Airport is the roomiest, most secure and physically heaviest bag I have. That said I have three LowePro's with the 18 year old Compact Magnum being my most used. When I'm out with my 70-200 I gravitate to my Flipside 400 Lowe backpack especially when I'm on my Go Ped.

I'm an aviation enthusiast especially WWII up military and the SR71 being the fastest and baddest is my favorite, or at least one of many.

I use it to secure my equipment in my car with the security cable to a hardpoint. Even though it appears to be a soft side case I doubt a sharp box opener could penetrate the sides or cut around the zipper without a lot of difficulty

My bags are all Lowpro. Not because they are the best but because they are what I found on sale at the time I was looking. I have a small one that holds my camera, two lenses and a flash plus charger and some other small stuff. I have a larger one that fits all my stuff except I always have to leave one lens out. Then I have a big one that takes it all. The Lowpros work fine for me but then I'm not a pro tramping through the woods or wherever four or five days a week.

Which one I use depends on what I'm doing. Sometimes when I'm walking around someplace like Monterey/Carmel or Disneyland I don't carry any bag. I just carry my camera with walk around lens attached hanging from my Optech sling strap.
