Wonderful shots Vicky! Number three is a "WOW" !

Thank you Dlevon. There are lots of funny little ramshackle buildings along the route, but many are not safe to shoot from the road. This one was on a side street that we just happened to find. It was a "stop the car and open the window!" moment.:-)

Round crab post? My experience is with lobster post, but I've never seen a 'round' trap of any kind. Very interesting. DJT Great pictures too.

These seem to be the preferred model in this area. They were piled all over the piers. Thanks for taking a look and commenting.

nice shots, I got married out on bodega headlands, still a fond memory 33 years later

It must have worked. Congratulations on 33 years. There was a wedding going on while we were there. They were lucky to have such a beautiful day since we'd gotten our first real rain of the season the day before.

When I was a teenager, (many years ago) I went crabing with my father and his friends, we had square cages with chicken parts tied to the bottom inside of the cages. Got many pinches from them crabs. The second image bring all those memories back. Thanks for posting them Vickie...

I don't think crab season starts for a few months. They must be getting the traps (or whatever you call them) ready. During the season they're usually in the water, and you don't see them unless they're piled on boat decks. Thanks for looking.

Great shots of a wonderful area full of photo ops - for those who are not familiar with the climate of this region late Sept is the start of the best time to photo here when there is little or no fog.
For many years a group of us would rent a house at Sea Ranch over Halloween and always had the most wonderful weather - sorry that was before I got into photography so no photos to brag with.

You can't go wrong heading north on the coast whether it's Sea Ranch or farther up towards Pt. Arena to Ft. Bragg. We used to rent at Irish Beach over New Year's. It was a great time to go weather wise, and the whales were migrating. Summer is when you get more fog.

Thanks for taking a look and commenting Harvey.

A drive to the coast just to get out for a few hours produced a few photo ops that I found interesting.

As always, feel free to make suggestions.
