Looking to purchase a focusing rail, I have the Nikon PB6 bellows but I would like something a little less susceptible to rough usage & branches and such poking holes in the bellows while crawling around and under things...and to lighten the load. Any recommendations appreciated. Trying to stay under $300.
Thanks,
Doug
I use the Velbon Supermag Slider. Whatever you get should have geared adjustments with dual stainless rods. This one is around $130 and is very smooth. I use it for focus stacking in close-up/macro
I can't beleive that's the one I was looking at, seemed well built and at a reasonable price...thank you.

Big yes to that. I opted for the common and cheaper single middle rail--pretty unstable and the focus shifts when I tighten the locking knobs.
Thanks guys, yes... for sure double rail or extruded plate as in the higher end models. Gear drive, Absolutely.
