And if so....any recommendations on a specific brand and amount of power.
And the remote seems to be a necessity, any ideas or comments would surely be welcomed. Thanks to all.
Mike

Walmart or party stores like party city, these specialty stores that open for halloween and sell all kinds of neat stuff in the halloween section. Day after halloween they usually discount them and the fog juice. I have had one for years, works great. Word of caution, pour out any left over juice (back into juice bottle) because residue can gum up the tubing or nozzle.

You can get them as little as $15 or in the 1000's Right after Halloween they are cheep. Have had a lot of them for stage use. best bang for your buck I have found is the antari line fog and haze machines you can get a good one for $200 that will work for photo shoots.

Thanks for this. My son has been looking for one. Trial and error is not a good system.

Yes The Ones Sold by K Mart And The Temp Halloween Stores Work Fine. Also I Had Talked To A Guy Who Used An Insect Forger Just Added The Smoke Solution Etc. The More Expensive One Can Be Rented Of Purchased Some times Second Hand From Stores That Provide Theatrical Staging.

Dry ice fog can damage some flooring according to the theater manager near me.

Hadn't thought of that.
Ceramic tile could shatter from the temperature differential, and linoleum could get brittle enough to break under foot traffic. Like the seals on the Shuttle Challenger Booster Engines.

This is the time of year that Halloween stores are popping up everywhere and they usually have em cheap. Check them out and ask for a demo.

1. I would not buy one, because you can rent them from part stores.
2.I used one for Halloween effects and also used a small fan to get as I me directional flow, especially indoors.
Have fun.

I use them all the time. Operate a small model museum in West Central Florida and have several small buildings with smoke stacks. I had to develope a system where I need only a small amount of fog. Project isn't worth investing many hundreds of bucks, so I use the $40 dollar version. Let me caution you that most all of them come out of the same Chinese factory and can last 7 minutes, days, months or years. I would use only water based fog fluid, clean it before storing it for more that a week with 50% vinigar and distilled water. I strain anything I put into the fog tank with a nylon hose or fine paint strainer. Purchase it with a credit card that carries a extended warranty and save your receipt. www.sundancecentral.org. The company seems to know what they are doing: http://www.goo.gl/0bBMJ

yes with older oil base fluid its not good to have too much, but with water base fluid the big thing is it will dry you out, they used it in hospitals in the 40's to kill germs

And, I forgot to mention, after cleaning with the vinegar solution, run some distilled plain water through the system to get rid of any acid.

Back in the 60s when I worked for a studo we used a few bowls of water and dropped in some dry ice. Dose a great job as long as you only want the fog to hug the floor.

Now if you really want a good smoke generator maby navy surplus will meet your needs. This is the one looks like on the fantail of our ship when we were laying a smoke screen down to hide the fleet from the dive bomers.

More smoke than youll ever neen.
