Not sure whether this topic is Okay here. I hope I do not infringe any rules.
I am using Google gmail printer software to a Epson 890 printer.
Whenever I print a document I get a huge garish green grass background on the printed document and on printed photos.
Can anyone tell me how to remove that green grass background or at least radically lighten the green colouring, please?
It does the same thing when I attempt to print photos. That's why I have asked this question on this forum.
Thank you to any who have the answers. The problem has only emerged recently. It may be the age of the printer. I have had it for years but it still does an outstanding job....except for this intrusive background problem.
Thank you to whoever can help me.

Hi Ray,
I also have EPSON printers, and they are quite old, but as you mentioned, my printers are work horses and the quality I get from them is outstanding. Whenever I have a problem, I go to Epson.com and ask for their advice. Of course they will always want you to upgrade, but will back down when tech support can help assist getting the problem solved. I've done this about 3 times, and I still have my printer that I had the problem with. It was something that was worn out and I just had the replacement sent to me and things were as good as new again.
P.S. Sorry, I forgot to mention I don't have the same printer as you, but I can't see Epson not helping. My printers are about 7 years old.

I sometimes get a similar problem with some of the off brand inks that I use. I change out the cartridge and it, sometimes, goes away.

I'm going to make the rash assumption you're using Windows.
Try printing a test page from the printer properties.
What's it look like?

If you still have your Epson User's Guide go to Table of Contents and look up appropriate info "Maintaining Your Printer" and "Solving Problems".
Clean the print heads or changing out an old ink cartridge even though it is not empty sometimes fixes the problem. Using the right paper for Epson printers is important. I have two Epson printers ...Epson Stylus Photo R 1800 which sometimes is inactive for three months and then I have problems similar to what you have described. Cleaning the print head and or changing one or two ink cartridges usually fixes the R 1800.
The other printer is Epson 7800 (all in one printer) which I use all the time and I have only once or twice in 6+ years had a dry cartridge (which was still supposed to be okay). Also, with the Epson printer I use only Epson Ink. I have had problems with "aftermarket" ink cartridge refills so I don't use any of that stuff anymore.

Hi folks for your many replies. My sincere apology for my stuttering. Like my Epson 890, my computer is also old, but the operator is only 84 years young.
From your responses I will::::
1. Ask Epson. Why didn't I think of that
2. Revert to Epson Ink. Difficult to find for 890. Maybe
Epson can help locate it here in OZ ?
3. Try to find long-lost User manual.
4. Have tried to clean Heads without desired result.
Thank you all. Been reading many years. First attempt to ask for help. Will hit "Send" once only.

You say that you are using Google gmail printer software. Why? You can try un install that software and re-install it or go with Epsom Printer Software and Windows drivers that match your printer.
