Well I will most certainly bow to your post as an experienced professional in this field - thank you for a very good explanation of how and with what you shoot. I was most defiantly speaking on my experience and not a pro like your self and I say that as a compliment.

Thanks but I don't like to think of "me pro" "you not pro". I'd rather say I have specific experience in that field. You could probably blow me away in whatever you specialize in.

if your going to pay a pro. get one who is in buesness for himself . not working for a company . if you need a plumber or elec .you don't phone
depot or cosco and get them to send one . then it's costing you the price of two plumbers ' almost ' . and with your camera . the right equepment
maybe a flat 8mm fish eye , not the round one . a good flash with diffuser
bounce umbrella. tripod , 10-20mm sigma ,35mm sigma . a short zoom 35-75.. a book on time exposure shooting at night . bulb setting. fstop to use . expouser time . it's not rocket science , it's just like backing a cake '

I totally agree with you on some levels, however, the last 4 homes I've sold, i was told by the buyers ? What attractec them was my photos, you may not of read where I stated that various agents have asked me to do their photos, and we have weekly meetings prior to out agent tours, and if i am one that had a new listing, the Manager pulls mine up due to the photography ...
There is just always room for improvement,

As far as Virtual, i pay 99 a year for endless properties and they do a great job.

Thanks for your input

and for the cost of a pro , $2000 and up per house . for get that nonsense . the saving there alone ' would more than pay for your lay out in gear . the house will still sell . most of the ones that are sold are through adds , personal showings , open house , most house buyers don't even know what a
virtul tour is .

Thank you, a good agent gets your home sold, she/he should be able to set price for competition, outshine your neighbor in showing it's best, of course Location, Location still remains and have a great marketing plan im place... Agent tour, very helpful to sellers etc..
I agree good quality photos are a must but have to hughky disagree with making a trailer that was disccribed go from pretty bad ti beautiful on photos , using software etc. is deception in my opinion. Then all agents get your number...... Hummm Judy listings all look great until you get there...
Your are not in a photo contest but tryibg to portray this home in it's current condition and watching for things like cleaning clutter, clear countertops, toilet lids down etc, NOT making Corian into Granite with Photoshop.
I say keep it real.... Your the winner in the end.
Abd Virtual tours ? My clients are not that impressed, they hire me for what I have to offer and my aggressive Marketing Plan.. Virtual tours are just a bonus... They won't sell the house . Pictures and tours are great but once buyers are in the house.... It's in their hands ..

Good Morning all you Photo Bugs !!

Another question, my d7000 also came with a very nice Tripod, which was never used..... Of course I don't know how to use it lol, never really tried as if yet....

In what instances is it best to use the Tripod ?

One additional question if you don't mind..... I am a Realtor, my point n shoots are crisper then the DSLR , again, I know you cannot help without of course the photos/settings.... Would a Tripod help here ?

Even though I'm tapped currently from this purchase, I would like to get a good wide angle.....any suggestions ?

I would LOVE to snap one at dusk of the outside of the home with all the interior lights on....any suggestions for settings and again...... Tripod ?

I do notice the camera is a bit heavier than I'm used to therefore it most likely shakes.....

Thanks once again, your the Best group !!

Using a tripod can actually be thought of as a discipline. It is just easier to hand-hold. Make yourself use it. Even with outdoor real estate photography.

I shoot some for a company that makes decorative concrete products. I always use my tripod. (pic attached)

I look at some of the photography done for real estate web sites and I always think "EEEK!" How much better that would have been if they had used a tripod.

A thought on the wide angle. I saved my coins and bought a Tokina 11-16mm wide angle for my Nikon D90. I love it! Got it on Ebay for around $500 and I am sure it has gone down some since I got mine, about 6 months ago.

I can see a tripod used with a lot of shots . but with the sun out on a nice day
I can see no harm on hand holding if you can use a shutter speed of 1600sec to 2500sec f22 to f5.6 especially with a small len's like 10-20mm sigma . I think you could print a pretty good size . when you see these tack sharp shots
of eagles flying . shot with hand holding a 300mm or 400mm len's . there should not be much of a problem , with a house thats not moving . I used to go to the funny car races in Kent Washington . I could blur the cars or stop the cars all with shutter speed . and there going 200 mi a hour near the finish maybe more .
