I really like #1 Linda. Great composition too, the way the trees point to the moon!

They're both beautiful, Linda. As I'm a fan of color, my pick would be the first. But not by a wide margin. Good work!

Thank you all for the kind comments, and for taking the time to view. I posted a topic months ago, "Why shoot the moon?" and learned then the reasons why many prefer the close-ups over moon as part of landscape. Always fascinating the varied opinions of fellow photographers!

Both very nice shots, and I have no preference -- they're different photos with a common element. The first is well-composed with the moon and clouds sharing the stage, and the trees providing a pleasing frame at the side. In the second, the moon is the clear 'star' and the colored clouds give a context and mood that the moon alone wouldn't. Both are effective for me because you've included well-chosen elements aside from the moon that work. Thanks for showing these!

Wonderful composition Linda...I must try this myself sometime if I can move the house next door over a few feet.
But yea, this is another nice way to show off the moon with scenery. Great Idea!

i prefer the scene with the little moon and the flufflier more colorful clouds, but both of them are pretty pictures!

Beautiful shots, Linda. Number one reminds me of Halloween.
