I have a picture of this and had forgotten it. Thanks for sending. I enjoyed my visit to Prince William Sound in 2003.

Here's a "unique" rock shape in Chico's Bidwell Park. Looks more like an ape to me, but hey, I didn't name it.

Gail: Guardian Rocks Canyon de Shelley. Is that by any chance the monolith whose rising sun shadow shows Gregory Peck and Omar Sharif the way to canyon del oro, the canyon of gold in the movie Mackenna's Gold. It sure looks like it and if so would bear a closer look at sunrise. Who knows? :D

John, I'm too young to know (not!) I will have to do some research on that. I don't know if I ever saw the movie.

Gail: Try a search on Pay per View TV if you have it. It will probably come up as a freebie. It's a good movie.

The photos of the cannonball concretions do not do them justice. There are hundreds of rocks that are nearly perfect spheres up to 6 feet in diameter.

Will you cut me in for 20% Gail if you find the Canyon Del Oro? I could do with a couple of new lenses.
