Sigma 18-200 rattle

My 18-200 DG 3.5 OS lens has a rattle in it as if something is loose. The shots are still very sharp and the OS works fine. I take very good care of my equipment so I can not remember dropping or banging it against something. Has anyone else experienced this? The image in the viewfinder moves when you hold the camera, D7000, up to your eye and then settles down.

I'm not familiar with that lens, but if it has vibration reduction then it is normal for the image in viewfinder to move slightly until vr stabilizes it. Has the lens always had a rattle? Still under warantee?

I haven't used my Sigma for a couple of years for the same reason. It started out like that and then it got worse, to the point where I can't use it. I contacted Sigma a few weeks ago and they told me to send it in but obviously mine is no longer under warranty. It would be interesting to know if somebody else has this problem. Factory defect?

No it has not always had this issue. I shot about 1500 photos recently while on vacation and early on is when I noticed it.

Oh no, mine is very bad. I try to focus on any scene and it shakes so bad that I'm looking at an earthquake through the viewfinder. Seriously. It never stabilizes itself so I can't use it.

Sigma is not know for the best quality in everything they make. Send it in for repair. It wont get any better.
