I have a Sony a77 with Sony 18-250mm. Looking for a compatible 2X converter, any suggestions?

Forget a TC with your lens, won't work. You could mount one, but it would be totally manual and the image quality will fall off dramatically.

Does the A77 have the teleconvertor built in camera? My A500 has a button that will give 1.4x and 2x. It may change my mind about the A77 if it does not have this built in.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have any experience with Sigma's 50-500mm lens.

I have one I use on my D-7000. Love it, heavy and really requires a tripod but great piece of glass as far as I am concerned

I donot believe so - Nothing in the owners manual or on camera menu.

I don't care for the 50-500mm that much for a lot of petty reasons, but I love the 150-500mm version and use it all the time.
