Depends on which word you googled.

When googling certain macro terms, I have found several of my own posts on UHH.

Yes, and the picture of that Hoarfrost was on Google. So I clicked on that and the page from UHH popped up.

Google is a search engine, unless you take active steps to avoid robots indexing your site, the contents will be on google. This is the purpose of the robots.txt file at the root of most sites.

Being that this site hosts ads, the owner(s) would actively try to get the crawlers sifting through the pages. That brings in the traffic, which, in turn, brings in the clicks, and if all goes well, brings in the money required to keep the site going.

Sooo...
Seems like some of us UHHers might look forward to becoming famous! Should we be listening for our phones, or watching our bank accounts? Hmmm...

Ive always noticed that, not just from this forum, but also the other forums i belong to, depending what key words are used. If its a public forum, you'll certainly pull up threads from that forum if those key words are used.

Good thing we aren't using paper, we wouldn't have trees anymore. But we would keep the Post Office from going under. I googled a job I had 20 years ago and my name was there. Lots of wasted internet space!

Scarey, I just googled my avitar name and a few dozen posts came up in google along with dates and times. it's bad enough advertisers pick up on everything you search for with cookies and google is at the heart of that too.

That just isn't right. I thought we had some level of security here.
