No Problem if I can ever be of assistance just ask ?

I have the T3I ,the 5 D Mark III, and 25 years as a photographer ,hell the picture on my Press pass i was 17 years old !!

now that body has a flash on it but when you want to do more, you can download the update from Canon and use the wireless 600 EX RT in the future you can also buy the 199.95 Canon 40MM STM Pancake Lens which will allow you to do focus free follow Video with your T3I It's awesome and inexpensive and allows you to concentrate on composition rather than is somebody walking into my focus and screwing the image up.

figures i just got my Canon Newsletter and if you had of bought the T3I from Canon before the 31 st of August with the same deal body and lenses for $699.00 Canon would have thrown in a camera bag for free,Tell that to Adorama when you call just leave out that the offer has expired and ask if they will match Canons offer of a Refurbished camera bag with purchase !! and see if you an get one from them trust me they can afford it!!

yet that is simple 2008 a 5 year old DSLR its never even heard the words HDR let alone be able to produce one!!

The 5 D can do it out of the box unless you get the promote Remote System!

OK guys....asked this question once before and got all kinds of comments the basically said "go forth and make your decision."

I am not qualified to know what the heck I should be looking at.
All I know is CostCo seems to have good prices on Canons and Nikons.

Want it to:

Take pics I can blow up to poster size and not see resolution loss.
Take pics indoors without having to use flash all the time.
Do wide angle close ups and medium telephoto shots.
Emphasis on easy to learn/use features. Mostly basic at this point, but plan to invest time to learn.

Had an SLR for years, but finally sold it to go digital.

thanks

I believe Costco carries the Nikon D3200 kit. An excellent body with a very good lens. I have a friend who has one and he takes awesome photos with it. You can start with full auto and work your way to full manual without a problem. It doesn't fit my needs but is a very good entry level model.

I recently stepped up from a P&S to DSLR. I was told if I purchased Canon or Nikon I would be OK. I chose the Nikon D5200 from Costco. I like that they have a 3 month no questions asked return policy. IN addition 2 good friends have Pro Level Nikons and I can call them for advice
Mine came with a 18-55 and a 55-300 lens. I much prefer the 55-300 however most of my photos are outdoors. I found it easy to use and I get from nice to very nice photos. Any issues are with me, not the camera. I was able to go off auto setting within days of purchase.
As a newby the best advice I can give you is get it and use it. Don't be afraid to push buttons or change settings. There is always someone that can help you get it back to factory settings if necessary

Yeah you got a three month return period but you also probably paid to much for it. Everyone who buys a big ticket Non Food item from CostCo or Sam's usually pays to much compared to going to a specialty shop or Camera store in NYC via the Internet .

As an example if you paid more than $1047 for your equipment you paid to much!!

I price shopped prior to purchasing. I found it at the same price in places w/o the 3 month return policy. They also have a help line available. I haven't used it with the camera but I did use it with my computer. I'm happy with my purchase. Of course I could have bought the d5100 and gotten it much cheaper since it is last years model. Hindsight is 20/20. I personally do not like to buy refurbished items due to having issues in the past

Good recs. Just a slight difference of opinion. I think that the 6D is not "entry level". It is a pro level camera, just not as many bells and whistles as its big brother, the 5DIII. Keep shooting! Picture shot with the 6D with bright sun in the background.

Yes but a two lens Canon Kit with an 18 Megapixel T3I Can be had for $699.00 allay with free shipping and the lenses are far more advanced and the camera will do ten times what the sony will do ,not to mention if you decide you don't want to stay in the hobby you will get about 20 bucks back out of the sony VS $275 or $300 back out of the T3I.

Penny foolish and pound foolish investment in something that old as a test camera ,something basic ,modern and relevant is the only way to go,otherwise you can just take the money and light it on fire , Have the latest modes available if you are going to buy a flash why buy a piece of garbage Sony when you can buy a modern Infrared and Radio beam triggered Canon 600 EX RT,you can't fight that logic yes the stuff is more expensive but if your going to stay your going to play with everything you can or if your going to bailout that Sony stuff is selling so cheap because they are buying it so cheap 5 cents on the dollar, don't waste your money.

Radio

I hate when people put money ahead of logic ,its embarrassing to the human species!!! if you are that cheap you do not belong in any hobby
