Lightening over Detroit.

We had a thunderstorm roll through the area the other evening with an incredible display of light.

I stepped out my front door and took this picture.
I took the picture with my Olympus E-500 14-45 Lens.
ISO 100 / 14mm / f5.0 / 5 sec.

For photo editing to B/W I used GIMP.

To get just the right shot I took about 70 shots, every time one shot finished I hit the button again. Sooner or later I knew I'd get the light in the picture.

Hello fellow Detroiter! I so wanted to photograph this storm as well but got preoccupied just trying to drive home safely. Then got home and had no power. So I missed the opportunity. Great shot though!

Great shot. Next time you might also try a tripod and a long shutter - bound to catch compounded lightening!!
