One more to end the year...B&W or Color...you pick..tell me what you think...
B/W is the best one - more depth and character with it.
b&w, it defines who he is

B&W
Would like to see the B&W non HDR version.
Silvertone, your images are always superb. You should do a tutorial on your method or technique to getting that look. I like it very much.
The color photo doesnt have much color to make it pop, so I would choose the BW. It adds a dramatic effect. I would like to see it more black and white and less sepia, I think it would heighten the effect. Just one mans preference.

Of the first two, I like the BW best. Of the second two where you stepped back, I prefer the color. I think the subject stands out better from the background in color. To me, the background just seems busier in the BW. JMHO. Great shots!

I assume you are doing single image HDR since these are portraits? Which app are you using for your HDR?
I vote for the B&W. But then, I'm old enough to remember when that is all I ever shot.
I prefer the black & white, It has character. If I saw them both on a wall, I would give the B&W a lot more attention.
I sure enjoy your work Silvertone.
what a great face. The B&W really works for me. Thanks for posting.
I like the B&W!!!! His wrinkles tell the whole story!
My Husband and I vote for the B & W. We think it makes him look more weathered but it is sharper. Always love your photos. Please keep sharing.
BTW....how do you get these photos anyway...not technique but how...like...are you just driving by and happen to see the opportunity, turn around and ask permission to shoot...do you work with this guy? Or is it all just luck and fate that you are in the right spot at the right time?
The overall winner is the B&W as it has the character to present a beautiful portrait
