Hi guys, just about to start tackling the garden, found this in the raised bed (which is over-run with weeds). Don't know if it is a weed or in-fact a flower. Any ideas what it is as it is quite pretty.

This is not a weed. It is a flower called a viola.
Done a bit of research. Found it to be a "Tri-coloured Viola Pansy". Does that sound about right?

Violas are also called Johnny-Jump-Ups. Violas and pansies are related but are not the same flower. The viola flower is smaller than the pansy and prefers warm weather where the pansy prefers cold weather. Both are annuals.
The difference between a flower and a weed is: a weed is what you dont want and a flower you do. The only weeds I know of are invasive plants and poison ivy.

Looks like a pansy to me!
