A couple more from my trip to the Navajo reservation, what do you think? Do you have any good canyon pictures?
the colors seem a little flat... perhaps it was a dull, cloudy day, but usually the colors in that part of the country are pretty vivid.
here are some of my shots from that part of the world...
Canyonlands, Utah
Bryce Canyon, Utah
Antelope Canyon, Arizona
Monument Valley, Arizona

Yeah, it was getting late in the afternoon, would have been brighter if we went a bit earlier.

I think you visited at the wrong time of year. Try this area in the fall.
check out a guy named Branson Reynolds (photographer) knows the area like the back of his hand & a great teacher! He teaches me stuff every time I visit him!

I stayed down there, with some friends, from July-December 2009 and again from April-July 2010, in Red Mesa, Arizona. These were just a couple pictures that I took, I've posted better ones on different topics, though.

Here is your image re-worked in Lightroom.
Looking at the histogram I thought it was slightly under-exposed.
it is just beautiful there - someday I hope to & venture out west before I leave this world.... :)

I hope you are able to make it out there, it is so much better to be there than to just look at pictures!
Even though I live relatively close to this area I never get tired of seeing beautiful pictures like these.
I absolutely love it in the Southwest. Here are some of the area around N. Arizona, South Utah.
The Guardian - Wahweap - Utah
The second shot of mine was in a place called White Pockets. This shot is just south of Page at the bend in the Colorado River. It was as close as I could get to the edge....I have vertigo, and tried to crawl on my hands and knees on the sandstone.....not advisable in shorts. There is lots and lots of "eye candy" in the SW.

Great shots, way better than the pics I got in Monument Valley!

I think this was the best shot I got there.
