A young boy was kidnapped in China.
The Kidnapper made his demands to CHINESE Police Negotiators.
The cost of the bullet is £0.25.
In the UK we would shut the street down for 48 hours.
Take 48 hours to talk him out of it
Spend £5 million giving him a fair trial.
And pay his food and lodging for life and then give him a vote!
No wonder their products are cheaper than ours!!
'I have 3 demands or I'll kill the boy!'
Negotiators assess the situation from next door.
Head Negotiator gets into In Position to begin negotiations
Negotiations concluded with boy safe and well

Didn't he realize that the police had guns? He's not exactly hiding there.

Perhaps he didn't think they would use them!
If it did happen in the UK - and possibly parts of the US - the 'bleeding hearts' brigade would be crying 'police brutality against an unarmed or mentally challenged person'!
Anyway - the people involved would be too bogged down by paperwork!
1. We could write new captions that might tell a very different story.
2. We do not know what drove this man to such a desperate act. We do know that these types of situations are usually an outcome of a desperate cry for help.
3. The Head Negotiator does not have the appropriate training to negotiate a safe and non-violent resolution.
4. The scenario does not end with the boy safe and well. The boy has just witnessed a brutal murder where a man has had his brains blown out. It may well have been the boys own father.
5. You can only view this as a just and desirable outcome if you sanitise and desensitise the situation.
6. This is not an issue of saving money. Those who believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ need to ask, would Jesus have shot the kidnapper?
Just my opinion.
Would a fairy tale have shot the kidnapper? of course not and the same with jesus.
Are you condoning what has happened here?
There is a great deal of evidence to suggest that Christ did once exist as a man on this earth. As to whether he actually was the son of God, I have no idea. I am an Agnostic.
I just think that this situation is appalling and to hold it up as an example of conflict resolution with a satisfactory outcome is just wrong.
This incident happened years ago from my recollection.
I think the end result was deserved and fair. Would shooting the man AFTER he threw the boy out the windows be justified?
Folks seeing the series of photos know how wrong doings are handled and might think twice about repeating them.

judge, jury and executioner? It doesn't matter when it happened. The point was that it was being held up as a cheap solution to a social problem. The suggestion was made that a single bullet is far cheaper than attempting to talk the man out of a crisis situation.

Ideal sentiment - in a perfect world.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where increasingly the rights of the criminal have more weight than the rights of the victim.
We live in a world where the 'Scales of Justice' are firmly rigged in favour of the well off.
We live in a world where we see high priced lawyers getting 'alleged' criminals off - despite all evidence against them - on a technicality or a spelling error on one of the forms.
We see evidence discarded by the judge because it wasn't quite collected or labeled properly.
We then see those same people get off scott free and perpetrate more crimes - probably escalated in severity.
We see murderers let off to murder again.
Yes, perhaps the £0.25 bullet is a solution in this increasingly violent age - at least we will be assured that the perpetrator will not be one of those who were caught red handed and who subsequently get off.
We will not see criminals let off because the jails are too full and the government want to cut costs.
I don't like or particularly condone violence - but as for all this 'turn the other cheek' crap;
Give the aggressor the opportunity to smack you even harder on the other one?
NO THANK YOU!
I would gladly pay for a few good years of therapy for the kid, than for the lifetime incarceration of some mentally deficient loser who finds threatening to throw a kid out of a window a logical thing to do if his "demands" are not met. What about the 48 hours or so that the kid had to spend with the kidnapper? Who knows what could happen during the negotiation period (physical abuse, sexual abuse, torture) that wouldn't also scar that kid for life. Don't let your liberal heart bleed for the perpetrator, let it bleed for the victim. His "rights" were violated first.
Are you a TRUE Aussie? I don't think my friends in the Western Territories would see it that way!

The man is not the issue. He was holding a boy against his will. In what reality do you sympathize with an unlawful act? Judge, jury and executioner - sounds right.
What if this man was your son? What if there was a broken marriage, a gambling addiction? Would you be so quick to pull the trigger?
We simply do not know the circumstances. Shot first, ask questions later?
And what if he was a heroin addict sticking a needle full of drugs into the kid? Or what if he were a child molester or worse yet, an agnostic like you? You weren't their either. So, does that mean we should dig up pictures from the Holocaust and make excuses for the Germans while we are at it. At least the Nazis said "Please" when they asked the Jews to enter the gas chamber. What a bunch of bleeding heart crap you spew.
Since when should a bullet be the solution of first choice?
