Sensor size is going to play a role in the size of the overall image.
Car still there. Can barely see front wheel as is at different angle. The sun line at top left building stands out as the second pic has same line buy is washed out.

The car is still there. Can only see the front left tire as the second pic was at a different angle. The strong sun line on the top of the left building on first pic is the same as the second pic only the second pic was washed out.
I'll tell ya....my personal choice between the 2 cameras is the Lumix because it has warmer, richer colors. BUT there is a slight loss of detail in the shadows with the Lumix. You might try setting the Olympus to "vivid" (or whatever term Olympus uses to identify deeper, brighter colors; this will be wherever the settings are to change White Balance, etc.) to see how the photos turn out and it may come closer in color saturation to the Lumix. Here again, it all depends on you and how YOU want your photos to look.
For just everyday, ordinary photos that you might pass to others via email, change your compression rate to its lowest size.
My take is that 8 or 10 MP is fine unless you plan to print enormous enlargements. That will certainly be OK to view on-screen. If you have plenty of SD card space and disk space, use the larger number.
Checked Olympus site and then camera - set at 3200 X 2400, and 1/2.7. Checked Lumix and sensor at 1/2.33, and pixels about same, on 4/3. Would appear Lumix may be better, especially with the big zoom. Appears very complex to me! Thanks for your suggestions. Evidently can get two additional lenses, telephoto and closeup for Lumix that didn't know existed until I read the manual! Feel like its one of those "have you read the instructions!" Probably reason Lumix is getting more light. Don't know how Leica lens compares to Zuiko. Probably both acceptable, especially at my level! Again, thanks.
